Cincinnati, Ohio.

Memory Ann Forwalt. Cincinnati Rise - their hidden wake, 2016.

Watercolor & Acrylic on reused fifteen-year-old hand-stretched Canvas.
91.44 cm x 91.44 cm (36 in x 36 in).

She gives a silent wake to those who were unexpectedly put to sleep. In her hand, you will find one dog tag simply pronouncing who she was and what she secretly did as she walked around pretending. Her task was not asked of her but required and often requested without her knowledge. -wake, city wake.

Attached to the dog tag is a promise ring in which she quietly sent and received to and from those in need. It's not a wedding ring, as those don't always last, but when you are sixteen a promise ring meant for keeps.
On her wrist is a white and clear bracelet, a symbol taken from a dream dictionary many years ago. A bracelet simply means a friend. She gave that bracelet through imagery to those who were chemically laid down and did scold all who made it known that they had thrown it to the ground.

Her taxi friends, mostly of the African descent, donated one dollar on every walk around the block with her request. Why would she refer to them as friends? They allowed her purchase of coffee at her favorite coffee shop, Starbuck's, and kept her well fed, and often times even clothed. -usually eight to fifteen a day. See the colored skin of the arm hanging out the window of the city taxi with his kind and a generous dollar bill. -Africa.

She visited with many and was constantly up and down with her many ghostly friends. Sometimes her elevator went straight to the top. Refer to the secret up button as she protected those who needed to appear low, although they stood high. That elevator crashed, or so she thought, as her ghostly visits were not later well favored.

She guarded the 49-story Carew Tower where The Kid and The Children had secretly been hiding. -another time around the block. She screamed for them with her imagined building wraps and through every garage cross -in and out again. Although she sternly demanded them, her intentions failed, but her presence was felt and sometimes heard by a certain, now famous little one as she screamed for him. -fix that with Jesus Christ and see that kid's A once again.

The Cincinnati bridge is depicted as the gateway of two worlds where two men secretly fought over a pretend north and south boundary -there on the other side, one would find Covington, Kentucky sitting there holding the south just as it always did.

This city sleeps, a bit too much it would seem. But a homeless, psychic woman and her third-eye friends continued to stumble around that little downtown corner of the city to secretly wake those who had fallen using their imagery and the voice of their heads.
-Just remember I will be there my friend, as there was something wrong there, in that place, and we just couldn't leave. -Cincinnati that is.
Thus, this pop art piece is out of the ordinary and is titled Cincinnati Rise -their hidden wake, signed Memory.
